Entertainments

Things are in full swing all year round in the Thermal SPA Hotel Roman Bath and its surroundings.

After all, there are a winter resort and wonderful nature, and a cultural life, and historical landmarks. And the Thermal SPA Hotel Roman Bath always knows what to offer to its guests: excursions, bicycles for hire, high-class athletic field for going in for sports, and a beach near the pool where the lovers of relaxation can sunbathe.

No one would ask questions about what to do here in the wintertime. The Thermal SPA Hotel Roman Bath is located not far from Bansko, the modern European-level ski resort. The ski season lasts here from December, 15  to April, 15.

The brand new Bansko ski resort was built in 2004 and since then it has already won the title of the Bulgarian winter capital and competed successfully with the Swiss resorts.

There are more than 65 km of ski runs of all levels in Bansko. There are trails for beginners, 8 ski-lifts, 8 km of plain trails and one big downhill (16 km). The experienced skiers will appreciate the complicated “black” trail named after Olympic champion Alberto Tomba.

If you’ve never gone skiing, it’s time to learn. You can find a ski school in Bansko that also offers lessons for children, and of course there is a rental of ski and other equipment. The Thermal SPA Hotel Roman Bath runs a free shuttle to the ski lift during the ski season.

There is no time to be bored in the spring, summer and fall also. The hotel is surrounded by the wonderful nature. Experienced tourists can conquer the Pirin Mountains by a furnished tourist route starting from Bansko. Those who do not like to be on a long tiring walk can rent a bicycle in the Thermal SPA Hotel Roman Bath and explore the surroundings in such a way.

The ones who like to explore the culture of the country and learn something new during vacations can order a guided excursion. Just ask at the reception. Thehistoric buildings and churches of Bansko, the ethnographic museum “Velyanov house”, the house and the tomb of prophetess Vanga, the famous Rila Monastery are among the most popular tourist attractions. You should visit the museum village of Dobarsko to dive into a living Bulgarian history.

There are some interesting sightseeing attractions in the Banya village: completely restored ancient Roman and Turkish baths, and the St. George’s church that are declared the cultural heritage.

Wine tourism lovers also have something to do! There are 7 wine producers within a  2-3-hour drive from the Thermal SPA Hotel Roman Bath. They are called “Winna Kyshta” in Bulgaria, which means “The Wine House”.

What kind of recovery could it be without outdoor sport games? There is a large (25 m by 42 m) professional athletic field with acrylic covering and professional lighting designed for tennis, volleyball, basketball, handball and mini football in the Thermal SPA Hotel Roman Bath. All the necessary sports equipment can be rented at the hotel.

The hotel is also always glad to welcome sport teams who are looking for a quiet and comfortable place for training.
